The weather in Bilbao, Northern Spain, where I live, has been truly awful over the last month or so. The rain has been relentless. The dark sky, oppressive. I’ve started to wonder whether I’m suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder, so when the opportunity arose to escape the weather and visit Catalonia for a weekend, I jumped at the chance. The flight was only an hour but the warmth and sunlight hit me as soon as I landed even though it wasn’t that hot. Later in the seaside town of Sitges, just south of Barcelona where I was lucky enough to be staying, I became mesmerized with this stunning sunset. It felt like a little magic in the middle of winter and a reminder that spring is just around the corner.
